Earth's Moon
This view of the whole full Moon was photographed from the Apollo 11 spacecraft during its trans-Earth journey homeward in 1969. When this picture was taken, the spacecraft was already 10,000 miles from the surface. While the Lunar Module "Eagle" was on the surface to explore the Sea of Tranquility, the Command and Services Module "Columbia" remained in lunar orbit.
