DELTA II ROCKET


Delta II Launch Image 1:
Typically used for launches of low-Earth orbit missions, the Delta II rocket can be arranged as a two or three stage vehicle and allow up to nine strap on motors. The paylod can range from 891 kg (1,965 pounds) to 6 metirc tons (13,281 pounds).

The Delta II rockets can launch single or multiple mission payloads. Boeing designed a variety of fittings to allow for a variety of launch requirements. Launch Complex 17-B, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the Delta II Heavy launch vehicle carrying the rover "Opportunity" for the second Mars Exploration Rover mission is poised for launch after rollback of the Mobile Service Tower.
